* Why do you bill for writing proposals?
Proposals are considered a billable service because proposals require
considerable time and expertise to assemble.
Managing the time and cost
estimates within proposals is a project management service.
Also, proposals require me to spend time on planning
your project. Planning includes valuable documentation (a form of
intellectual property), ideas an
approaches to your project that can be used whether or not the project commences.
For small projects where clients know precisely what tasks need to be
performed, initial proposals can often be prepared in lieu of a free
1/2 hour consultation.
* Why do you bill for working with my host
provider?
Because I have little control over how quickly I can produce results.
- Some hosting companies are very efficient and others, not.
- Some hosting companies are very knowledgeable and others, not.
- I do not have complete access to a virtual host's back end to accomplish
results myself.
I reward the clients who host with me by not charging for any hosting
related issues unless their setup is very unusual....such as MX record
changes or something else highly technical.
