Types of Analysis & Reports

An overview and two sample reports.

Using Web Server Log Files
To Generate Traffic Reports

A log file is a special file created by a web server. It records all of the transactions that every visitor and administrator makes to a web site. Examples of transactions include the names of the pages visited, how long each user visited and what date and time users visited.

Full List of Log File Transaction Types

To make meaningful use of the log file data, it must be processed by traffic reporting software.

Using Page Tags
To Generate Conversion Reports

A page tag is code in the background that notifies a third party server when a page is rendered by a web browser. The third party then produces a conversion report
