are not only responsible for their choice of energy, they are also
highly committed to protecting the environment and sustaining their
local community in many ways, including recycling, creative office
heating and fund-raising initiatives for local non-profits.
The site is nicely designed and has a credible feel.
According to the content of their site, they appear to be
specializing in web hosting services and networking consulting --
knowledge that goes nicely hand-in-hand. It took me a bit of time to
find their phone number, which is not toll free unfortunately and not prominently listed on their
"contact" page.
I didn't reach a person when I called, but left a
message which was returned 2 hours later. I spoke with John Rusho
who is one of 5 partners in the company. He explains that the
5 partners are heavily involved in the business and that customers
can expect to talk to a partner for both customer service and
technical support.
He explained that their renewable energy initiative
-- purchasing additional renewable energy credits to offset their
usage for each new customer they received -- not only allowed them
to make their operations 100% supported by wind power, but also the residences
of the partners as well.
Their servers are located in the basement of a
secure facility, and John sees this as a distinct advantage over a
large data center. "We can get at the servers any time we need
access," he says, though he admits the drawback is a time issue
-- not having the ease of calling in and letting someone else take
care of issues as they arise.
My impression of John was that he wasn't trying to
impress or push or , he just laid everything out as it was to him,
and I was left over with a strong feeling of trust.
