These are a list of common problems I experience when setting up or managing a Front Page web with an outside host. Don't worry -- it happens all the time. Typically, once the errors are overcome, everything is smooth sailing.

PROBLEM:

[FrontPage Save Results Component] appears at the top of a email form

SOLUTION:

Configure Internet Information Server to send email

PROBLEM:

FrontPage Components are not working. These may include publishing the web, sending an email form, scheduled include files, search form, etc.

SOLUTION:

Install FrontPage Server Extensions using the Server Extensions Resource Kit (SERK)

Update IDQ file to point to correct catalog

PROBLEM:

FrontPage Search Component doesn't work

SOLUTION:

Use the FrontPage Server Administrator to recalculate hyperlinks for each Web -OR - Use Command Line Server Administrator to recalculate hyperlinks for each Web
