Monitor Resolutions

Since there is no way to know what kind of equipment your web site visitors are using, it's wise to test the monitor resolution of YOUR web design.

Examples  (Click to Enlarge & Compare)
Resolution OmniStation.com  Intellmkt.com
640x480
(lowest setting)
640x480  Example of left-right scrolling in 640x480 view
800x600
(New systems purchased in the past year or two are set at here.
800x600 Notice how the screen above forces left-right scrolling in 640x480. Pages were designed to fill the screen at the 800x600 setting and not to print out.
1024x768 1024x768
1152x864 1152x864 Notice how in the higher settings objects appear much smaller.
  • PRO: You can fit more onto a screen.
  • CON: It's harder to identify objects as they decrease in size.
